About the Artist:

Living in South Wales, UK for most of my life, I studied Photographic Art in Newport, where I earned my honours degree.  During the course I realised that I loved to create miniature scenes that tell a story.  Creating my subjects from a variety of materials depending on what feels relevant to the topic.  I make as much as I can by hand, using craft items and reappropriating household items, toys or found objects that would otherwise be landfill.
These projects take a lot of time, consideration and a huge amount of patience, which is one reason why I prefer to make my own muses rather than use live models.  I build in plenty of patience and stamina so my models never blink at the wrong time or need a bathroom break.
The subjects that I tackle are complex and serious, but I try to show them in a way that is unexpected.  These images are intended to provoke consideration for the subjects which are based on real people and situations, but instead of a shocking documentary style photograph, I try to create scenes that draw the viewer in rather than repel them.  I know I couldn't handle photographing these subjects in real life.  Feeling powerless to change things myself, it would be Kevin Carter all over again, without the Pulitzer.

Here's a little tale about spreading yourself too thin...
